Two men were arrested in a shooting incident on Urbana's northwest side. Police responded to a domestic incident involving a firearm at the 1200 block of Ellis Drive on Sunday morning.

Officers Respond to Domestic Incident Involving Firearm

URBANA — Two men have been arrested in a Sunday shooting on the city's northwest side. Officers were called about 11 a.m. to the 1200 block of Ellis Drive for a report of a domestic incident involving a firearm. Upon arrival police contacted the victim who said her ex-boyfriend discharged a firearm in her direction as she was backing her vehicle out of a driveway. No injuries were reported and no property damage was identified.

Suspect Vehicle Fled Scene

Police obtained a description of the suspect vehicle which had fled the scene with another person driving. They located it a short time later in front of OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center at Romine and Park streets and detained both occupants. The passenger was Wesley L. King 34 of Champaign. He was arrested on charges of aggravated discharge of a firearm possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The driver was Mannix Martin 32 of Urbana. He was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

Investigation Continues
