18-Year-Old Dylan Dunway Arrested on Gun Charges in Carbondale Disturbance

An 18-year-old man is facing gun charges in Carbondale after police found him with a firearm during a late-night disturbance that also involved three juveniles.

Carbondale police responded to the 700 block of East Grand Avenue around 10:14 p.m. on Monday, according to a police statement reported by KFVS12.

Officers found Dylan J. Dunway, 18, and three juveniles in a vehicle during their investigation. Police say Dunway illegally possessed a gun found in the car. He also lacked a required firearm owner's identification card.

"Officers learned Dunway illegally had a gun that was found in the vehicle."

Dunway was arrested and charged with:

  • Aggravated possession of a gun
  • Unlawful possession of firearm ammunition with no firearm owner's identification card

He was taken to the Jackson County Jail pending a detention hearing.

Police released the three juveniles to their families. No charges were reported against the minors.
