CM Punk to Make Illinois Debut at Rockford Cage Fighting Event on June 26

ROCKFORD — The Cage Fury Fighting Championships will make its first appearance in Illinois at the Hard Rock Casino Rockford on Friday, June 26. WWE and UFC veteran CM Punk will appear live on UFC Fight Pass during the event call.

The event features a welterweight championship bout between Busurman Bushido Zhumagul and Ron Humphrey. A heavyweight championship fight pits Vitor Resende against UFC veteran Bevon Lewis in the co-main event.

CFFC CEO Rob Haydak announced the Illinois debut after partnering with Hard Rock Casino Rockford. The organization plans to showcase fast-paced production with top MMA prospects and championship matchups.

Additional fights include Max Metzgar against Jose Perez, Nick Aguirre versus Teshay Gouthro, and Matt Gawlik versus Billy Ray Valdez. The full lineup will be revealed later.

Preliminary fights begin at 6 p.m. with the main bouts at 8 p.m. Doors open at 5 p.m.

Tickets go on sale May 15.
