Investigators Search For Clues After Multiple Gunshots Near Decatur Home

DECATUR, Ill. — Police are investigating after officers found over 20 shell casings in the front yard of a home Saturday night.

The Decatur Police Department said officers responded to reports of gunshots near the intersection of North Dennis Avenue and West Harrison Avenue just after 11:45 p.m.

According to police, officers found about 27 shell casings from four different calibers of handgun in the front yard of a home on North Dennis Avenue.

DPD told WAND News that there have been no reported injuries. No arrests have been made.

Residents in the area have expressed concern over recent gun violence in the neighborhood. Police continue to work with the community to identify suspects and prevent future incidents.
