The Robbery
The case stems from a robbery that took place at T'bacco Shack at 343 West Grand Avenue in Decatur on March 13.
According to a sworn statement from Decatur Police, a 28-year-old male victim was walking toward the shop when two males surrounded him with a third waiting nearby.
The victim said the suspects pulled out black handguns with extended magazines.
"[The victim] advised the Black males stated something similar to 'If you do not give me the watch, I'll shoot you,'" part of the sworn statement read. "[The victim] advised he handed over his Rolex Oyster Perpetual watch to one of the Black males…[he] advised that he paid approximately $18,800 for the watch."
After the victim handed over the watch, the suspects ran to 1215 Edward Street and went inside a home there.
Police later surrounded the residence and ordered occupants outside. Jarrett was the only person to emerge.
Evidence
Police found the Rolex watch inside a tennis shoe in the house. They also recovered a Nike jacket that surveillance video showed Jarrett wearing during the robbery, according to the police statement.
