A free community arts event is coming to Carbondale this weekend as organizers look to give residents a chance to learn new skills, create art, and connect with neighbors.
Y'all Rock Carbondale is hosting its DIY Day Block Party Saturday at the Eurma C. Hayes Center. The event runs from noon to 5 p.m. and is open to all ages.
Organizers say the event will feature screen printing workshops, sewing workshops, small group instrument lessons, live music, zine making, community art projects, and free food.
Arts Council Funding Supports The Program
According to the event page, the program is funded by Artspace Southern Illinois Southern Arts Fund and partially supported by grants from the Illinois Arts Council and private donors.
