Country star LeAnn Rimes has announced the rescheduling of two upcoming concerts in Waukegan, Illinois, as she navigates a complex family crisis and her own health setbacks.

The singer revealed in a May 12 Substack post that her family is dealing with a parent who is now in rehab following a stroke. Rimes wrote that the stroke occurred a few weeks ago and described the situation as one of the hardest parts of all this, noting the helplessness and vulnerability she feels watching her loved one struggle.

"We have a parent in rehab after going through a stroke a few weeks ago, so the heaviness in our hearts around that has been hard," Rimes explained. "Eddie and I are both only children, which means a lot has fallen onto my sweet husband's shoulders."

Rimes added that her husband Eddie Cibrian has shouldered much of the burden while she has been barely able to carry herself through the difficult circumstances.

On top of the family crisis, Rimes is dealing with her own health issues. On April 29, she announced via Instagram Stories that she would postpone two concerts in Spokane and Seattle due to severe illness. She later rescheduled two additional shows in Waukegan, Illinois, and Wilmington, Ohio.

"After a diagnosis of covid leading to severe laryngitis, I'm so sorry to have to reschedule next week's shows," Rimes wrote at the time. "A visit to my doctor for a scope of my vocal cords has confirmed the news."

The singer has now rescheduled a total of six concerts in the last few weeks, including two additional postponements in Washington, D.C., and Wilmington, Delaware. On May 12, Rimes announced another round of cancellations via Instagram Stories, noting that her doctor has strongly advised her to take an additional week of vocal rest.

This means the Waukegan shows, which were scheduled for next week, will also need to be rescheduled.

Rimes shared anniversary photos and videos from her celebration in Cabo, describing it as filled with tears and worry but also moments of laughter and deep gratitude for her marriage to actor Eddie Cibrian, whom she wed 15 years ago.

"It's been a different anniversary, one filled with tears and worry, but in between, there were moments of laughter and deep gratitude for this love of ours," she added.
