DeKalb County PD Investigates Fatal Shooting

Police confirmed Sunday night that officers investigating a person shot found that person dead at the scene on Martin Crossing Road and Hemingway Road in DeKalb County.

DeKalb County PD confirmed tonight that their investigation Sunday afternoon involved a person found shot and killed.

A Channel 2 photographer at the scene saw police vehicles and officers investigating at Martin Crossing Road and Hemingway Road on Sunday afternoon.

Neighbors Identify Victim As Woman

Police told Channel 2's Cory James they arrived at the scene at around 2 p.m. DeKalb PD said investigators are still trying to determine the circumstances behind the incident.

A Land Rover SUV was towed away from the spot. A closeup of the vehicle showed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the door.

James tried to talk to neighbors, who didn't want to go on camera. But they told him a woman was killed.

Investigation Ongoing

Police haven't disclosed whether a suspect is at large, nor have they confirmed an identity for the person killed.
